Hahahaha right? I was using my phone's flashlight since their lights were off upstairs so it was in my hand and when I saw the chair on fire I thought the family might want to see what I saw later for insurance or proof. Not sure why I thought that, but they did ask for the photo later in the evening, as well as the deputy fire chief so they could document the cause as lightning or something.

I bet their next highchair will be all wood.

@Axtremus Wow thanks! I'm speechless. My throat is a little sore from the smoke, maybe that's why.

Being a mom, I’d be shit freakin’ shaking in my slippers seeing that pic of my kid’s high chair on fire!

I told my wife that their house was WAY messier than ours, and we have 3 feral children! So that's nice.

Great job! You did well. You were well within the safety zone - though I hope you touched the door before opening it to check for heat. Your wife is doing what she's supposed to do - worry. You still did right.

Excellent job, 89th! Though, I have to ask… Did you seriously stop and whip out the phone to take a picture of the burning highchair before putting it out?

Haha yes, see above. I knew it wouldn't make a difference and that some folks might want to see what "bathroom on fire" looked like. It didn't include the exhaust fan in the ceiling that was shooting out flames, though, sorry!
