Over the last 4 days, I have personally moved 28 digital pianos, 10 vertical pianos (Luke helped me with that), 6 grands torn down and reset, unboxed 2 communication labs, and ran 1100 feet of cable through a ceiling/floor in a building with no AC and 98 degree temps. Then I came back, emptied 3 200lb desks and personally moved them into back rooms of the showroom

The piano industry is not as glamorous as you would think…

Tell me about it. I grew up in it.

You had the worse end of it. You were the kid… Luke’s actually working in the warehouse as a 2nd job during his gap year. I gotta admit, the kid’s a good worker. Better than he is at home…

The digital pianos are likely lighter than acoustic pianos. When @Mik was moving pianos, presumably he moved mostly acoustic pianos and “had it worse.”

Typical piano guy as far as I know.

Flushing the toilet is like practicing the piano; you just cannot go too long without doing it.--Axtremus

Yep. They all had plates. The small organs weren’t too bad, but the big ones were quite awkward.

I worked for a music conservatory for about a year or so - and got to move pianos and we had some decent sized ones (e.g. M&H BB). One does get good at it.
