Home security cameras
-
Was browsing Amazon Prime Day deals and saw the outdoor cameras again. Is it irresponsible for me NOT to get one at this point? We have no cameras, no doorbell cam, no driveway cam, no indoor cam... we specifically want to stay as "non-tech" as possible with certain things, not sure why... maybe trying to give our kids and our sanity the 80s and 90s treatment we grew up with.
Even if we had some, we'd keep alerts off, it would be only for reviewing footage after the fact in the event a package is stolen or, much worse, a kid wanders off and we aren't sure where or how. We live on pretty safe street, mostly the neighborhood drama is from kids driving too fast down the road.
Do ya'll have cameras?

Nope.

I was ding dong ditched on the 4th. The kids got the whole block on the 4th. No big deal, but 3/4 of the block caught the juveniles on their Ring cameras. Kind of stupid these days…

We try and avoiding connecting stuff that isn't an actual computer to our wifi wherever we can, so no. We've talked about getting ones that aren't wifi connected.
Some little bastard threw an egg at our house the other day, so I'm torn between buying a camera and a non-network connected landmine.
