I would bet money that, while Trump will again back off some current or future tariff rate at some point, he will never, ever do so on a Tuesday.

          It's an actionable prediction.

Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump decided to specifically embrace it.

It seemed to upset him when that reporter asked.

Yeah it did. Sometimes (ok all the time) it feels like reporters talking to him is the first time all day that he’s been told some form of objective reality.

Well there’s no reason he should have had some special briefing on a financial analysts comment. However clever.

Yeah, but he’s going to realize that it’s not going away and will decide to take ownership of it. He’s actually decent at comedy. You want to do away with this TACO talk? Announce the next round of tariffs on a Tuesday with trays full of Taco Bell all through the room.

I just can’t see him doing that with the phrase ‘Trump Always Chickens Out’. To me the more likely scenario is what you first suggested, that it will make him more obstinate about tariff rates.

Oh, I definitely think he would carry through with those tariffs… That would be part of it. And he would be smiling that malicious smile while chewing a crunchy supreme at the same time.

                          That I could see.
