    https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/02/business/mondelez-aldi-lawsuit-packaging

Snack brand giant Mondelez is suing grocery chain Aldi, alleging that the grocer’s store-brand snack packaging “blatantly copies” Mondelez.

I would say it is pretty obvious that they are copying the packaging. However, I dont know if it is illegal or not.

      Agreed on both counts

Yeah, Aldi is pretty bad about that. Would I go after them? Likely not. I don’t think it hurts brand sales much. Aldi is not likely to carry the spoofed product.

Another question to ask is whether Mondalez's packaging designs were in turn "copied" from someone else. If they were, then one can argue that perhaps Aldi was merely inspired by the same sources that inspired Mondalez.
