Interesting idea. Can't say I'd ever be interested in paying to be in jail. Same reason I don't tour old prisons. Ugh.

And an Arts Center. That’s the Lorton Workhouse, where I spent several years on the board. It was one of the most infamous prisons in the world and was where The Night of Terror occurred… https://www.history.com/articles/night-terror-brutality-suffragists-19th-amendment

I agree. Interesting video to see how it was done.
(PS "Same reason I don't tour old prisons". Brings back too many memories? 555. Just tease you!)

The concept is not that new: in Europe several prisons have been turned into hotels.

I’ve sailed around it. That’s as close as I will ever get.

Yeah Lorton. I used to play golf at the course there all the time, even the tee box markers are little watch towers. My buddy was the guy who designed the course actually. And funny enough, that DOJ spokesman guy who resigned, he wrote a very long article about the property, including what LD is talking about, as well as it was the location of Nike missile sites. Very interesting history there, big property too. In a way I’m glad they didn’t just bulldozer over everything.
