I don’t know of this is self reported or from a database such as 23andMe.

It can't be self-reported. I don't think I've ever met an American who didn't claim to be Irish.

I'm a bit skeptical about Rhode Island being predominantly Portuguese. According to https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/portuguese-population-by-state 7% of the population are Portugese.

How many people claim all of one nation? I mean, anybody “English” is going to have Irish, Scottish, and Welsh in there, and likely a little Normand blood in them. In addition, I have a fair amount of German…
