But, I do get tired of banal comments masquerading as wit, trashing any and all my chosen politicians.

    You’re welcome.

                The comments are disturbing.

I shouldn't worry, you're sampling a subset of people who feel the best use of their time in contributing to this debate is to post remarks on YouTube.

At times, your hatred of all things political causes you to descend into absolute stupid supposed witicisms. Do you know John Kennedy? Ever sat across the room from him and listened to him work a meeting? Ever watch him go through a financial spreadsheet?

Maybe you didn't watch the video, but Senator Kennedy, who I think almost everybody here likes and respects, believes the tariffs are bad for the American economy. He affectionately calls Trump the dog that caught the car, and he thinks the only way forward from there is to use tariffs as a temporary negotiating tactic. Not a permanent trade barrier.

Kennedy may be right. I don't know. As I've said, I think I have an idea of where Trump wants to go.

But, I do get tired of banal comments masquerading as wit, trashing any and all politicians. Politicians are like lawyers, they are a necessary evil. And like a lot of lawyers, they are ego driven...I understand that. But any time you have more than three people in a room, politics comes into play. When you're dealing with more people, you have more politics. Without some people who are good at the game, nothing can be accomplished.

Dude, I had to put up with four long years of you repeating the 'Resident' joke. Four fucking years with one terrible joke.

Banal would have been an improvement.

                I was only joking

The presidential election version of that is "I'd vote for a can of soup over Trump". More of a pithy comment than a thought experiment, though bravo to the writer for the carefully crafted description of a bag of bricks.

Lutnick and Navarro are probably among the few people in the country to be disappointed by this pause. Trump supporters who were excited about tariffs, are now probably just excited by this brilliant negotiating tactic of pausing the tariffs.

Navarro and Lutnick are joined in their disappointment, by protectionist populist far-left types, I guess.

Auto market research firm Telemetry estimates 1.8MM fewer new cars will be sold this year. Last year total sales were ~15MM, so this is over 10% drop.
