    Depends.
Some parking lots post signage that says not to back into a parking space.

Only if it will be really crowded when I come back out, like at an event.

I like to pull through a double parking space so I'm able to exit quickly without a back-up. I'll trade some walking distance for that spot. Otherwise, depends - on how crowded the lot is.

And I usually park as far away as I can, and still be in the lot.

The close spots are for the old ladies.

After transplant I always did that. Because I finally could. Pre-tx I needed the handicapped spots.

                This is the way.

Normal scenarios, I used to but now I don't, probably because of the qualify of backup cameras/sensors make it easier to back out when departing.

Like Kluurs, I do look for pull through spaces.

Related, I am a big proponent of just find a spot and park, don't go up and back looking for the "closest" spot.

I am always afraid someone will "ding" the car door, so try to avoid parking near someone. But , usually, I dont have a choice.

That's only a problem if you drive an International Woman of Mystery car like an Aston Martin. I drive a Honda, so I don't care.
