If that’s even close to correct it’s a huge win.

That number doesn't pass the old giggle test that Horace loves so much.

Ok, then what are the numbers and have illegal border crossings declined?

It could be reasonable if you consider a couple of things:
-
There was probably a pre-Jan 20 surge, as people tried to get in before the change
-
Many would make an appointment via the app to come in and make an asylum claim. Trump turned that off. Those aren’t illegal crossings but I wouldn’t trust the source nor the Post to make that distinction.

It's probably down 90% since last summer. Either way, the drop is good, but the lack of actual numbers and an actual date range is suspect. Oh how it would be nice to get back to a world with objective facts in journalism, instead of just "let's print the headline quoting the chief!"
Also, in a bit of jest... how would you know how many illegal crossings there are if they are illegally sneaking in and not getting caught?

It was a guy spitballing and the number was suspiciously round, I’ll give you that.

Numbers going down is good
Over the next few years they will be misrepresented many different ways.

Probably the same one who had an official White House news release that started with:
"The Fake News losers at CNN..."
(true story)

Yes, that's definitely in his voice. Although I'm sure a good writer (Aqua) could mimic it.
