About that house budget resolution

I’ll be watching Lawler and Valadao. Both have made public noises about not wanting large Medicaid cuts. And of course the top two or three on the list have the closest races.

On the other side, you’ve got some deficit hawks that are still voting no because the resolution adds so much to the debt.

They even approved the fucking overtime and tips tax law. Ridiculous.

Only Massie voted against.
I’ll give Massie some credit. He was also one of the only votes against the Payroll Protection Loans and the Giveaways
-
I don’t think it passes the senate
-
I’m thinking that at some point the magnitude of the included debt increase is going to start being openly discussed in right wing circles, and people are going to have trouble reconciling that with all the DOGE blather.
But sometimes I’m too optimistic.

I haven't seen much but have seen a few videos of Massie, and he seems to be the only sane person in a house full of lunatics with checkbooks. Not sure these links will work (tik tok, instagram) but here's a CSPAN hallway interview of how he was convinced in the closed door session... to vote no.

(EDIT 11 hours later, Jon has a thread with a better video of this: https://nodebb.the-new-coffee-room.club/topic/36882/massie-this-bill-adds-20t-to-the-debt-increase-10-years)
