I remember a Bush guy who wanted to "defund the government" and implemented a number of tax cuts just before committing to a 3 trillion dollar war. That ball has been rolling for a while now. Heck, Reagan talked a good talk and still did a good job of making a generous contribution.

Of course, that was said when Dick Cheney was considered a rabid right-winger. Now, he's looked on as some kind of RINO.
