While I generally like the exposure and clean up that Elon and his team are doing, the absolute irony of those two men talking about investigating someone getting rich is nearly laughable. Trump doesn't even have a salary right now and somehow his net worth increased by like $2 billion in the last 45 days. HoW iS tHaT pOsSibLe?

Maybe if nobody else has taken seriously until now this issue of DC insiders becoming fabulously wealthy beyond any possibility of their paycheck, we can just be thankful that somebody somewhere, finally is. It is absolutely interesting and probably absolutely disgusting that the head of USAid has 100 million dollars in her bank account.

I’m suspicious when they use a single number like 30MM. That’s not how disclosure forms work. It would be a range, and they just default to the top number. I saw them do it the other day when they linked to the source that had the true data.
She’s married to Cass Sunstein who’s written dozens of books including NYT Bestsellers like Nudge. He probably has a townhouse in Cambridge he bought 40 years ago too.
Doesn’t mean there can’t be shady stuff there, but it’s far from obvious.

I hadn't considered the wealthy husband angle. I'm familiar with Cass, he does podcasts sometimes. For a lefty, he's memorable for being especially reasonable about the perspectives of the other tribe.

He regularly coauthors books with conservatives or libertarians, eg Richard Epstein from U Chicago.
