Canadian Tariff situation gets its own thread

Yep, unbearable humidity in summer, sun blocking swarms of no-see-um black flies and encephalitis carrying mosquitoes the size of tarsand turkeys (northern ravens - really bigly black birds, and I mean really bigly) timber and grey wolves and, black bears and more black bears and then polar bears and then again some more black bears. Good news is there are no mountain lions and no grizzlies. Those two are all here in Alberta, BC and the Yukon.
And yet again, more black bearsā¦..and Ukrainians, fiercely nationalistic Zaporizhian Cossack Ukrainians going back generationsā¦welcome to friendly Manitoba. Capital City, Winterpeg.
Did anyone tell you about a Manitoba winter? The unending arctic wind between beginning of November and end of March? Letās start in Gimleyā¦.look it up..

Of course it's tough, that's why they don't call it Womanitoba, after all.

Assuming these numbers are correct, where's the problem, exactly?

IIRC, as the Southern Border tightens, fentanyl shipments from Canada are increasing.

To be honest, I think the actual problem with fentanyl is the fact that so many people really want to take it. I don't think that playing whack-a-mole attempting to close the holes is going to solve the drug problem.
And really, can't we admit that we all know that blaming Canada for this situation is bullshit?

The thing about such heavy-handed tactics is they might work initially, but eventually the bluster will wear thin and be seen as just that, especially if he continues to bluster then back down. I am hoping this is just to get some action on immigration and then we can use Rubio in a more sophisticated approach.
But then I was hoping he'd be more presidential. I don't know.

He's been considerably worse than I expected, and I wasn't optimistic. I'm guessing it will probably calm down soon once he voids himself of all these bright ideas he's been cooking up over the last four years.

My turn to lob a āwhataboutistā distractor into the fray. After all Beauregard, you are not allowed a monopoly on chicken shit deflections.
But to your statementā¦..
so are shipments of illegal firearms increasing from the US into this country. IIRC, US authorities have shown a combination of passive indifference or in some instances, outright reluctance in doing their part in addressing the firearm smuggling issue. Apparently not a top priority; may be they view it as a 2nd Ammendment right.

In other newsā¦.
Ukrainian and Polish Canadians are banding together and calling on all their fellow Canadians to denounce the introduction and appointment of any type of āCzarā to Canada. Stan Kowalski of the Dom Polski braterstwo Kapustewā was quoted as saying, āa Czar cannot be trusted, he first takes your bread, then your salt and finally your soul. Never trust a Czar especially one whose name sounds like that kurwa, Fentanilovā. Orest Tkachuk of the Ukrainian Holoptsy and Kielbasnik Producers Board echoed Mr. Kowalskiās sentiments with a terse, āCzar khuiya!ā and made a universally recognized obscene arm gesture associated with sticking a foreign object up your bottom.

Some US lawmakers are pushing back against Trump tariffs against Canada.
We also knew all along it really never was about fentanyl or for that matter, illegal immigration.
