Trump says the USA will takeover Gaza

Sorta seems like if your plan is to take over half the world maybe you should mention that when you’re running for office so people have a chance to decide if that’s what they want.
Remember when he said the Iraq War was the greatest mistake America had ever made?
If he carries on like this, the mid-terms are going to be interesting.

The equality of the 3 branches of government is certainly undergoing a stress test it hasn't seen in a very long time. I'm mostly concerned with the retribution and disloyal retaliation game, uncleared resources accessing clearance-required systems, teenagers modifying source code at the US Department of Treasury, installing servers in OPM, violating the records retention act, among other comments (DEI caused the DC plane crash, and the USA is going to bulldoze Gaza to build a beautiful city), and actions being made during this opening "executive blitzkrieg" we are watching. At least there will be plenty of historical content to be written about for years, it's quite a time. You know secretly the news media loves it, and secretly the silicon valley folks are cringing, except maybe Elon.

Edelson family gave $337 million to the Trump campaign and have encouraged this. It's a good investment - US picks up the expense and risks for Israel. The savings we make in not providing assistance to the rest of the world will help cover the expense. Both parties will fall over themselves to support this well-reasoned initiative in support of Israel. Trump will get a golf course - and BIbi gets another addition to greater Israel. Ethnic cleansing has never worked so well.

@blondie's right and I don’t envy your task ahead. I have every confidence though you and your cohorts like Aqua and TG will know what not to do to make life better for all.
Not sure. I'm on cruise control in my personal life, working, young kids, trying to enjoy time with them every chance I get while working hard to hopefully retire as early as possible. I don't really have an impact on elections or policies (although I still vote).
I'm between Gen X and Millennial, I think younger Millennials than me (like JD Vance) will eventually shape the future, and most folks (or at least) are just trying to hold their breath over the next 4 years until a mature adult can enter the room again to lead the country. I'm happy for the conservative agenda to be somewhat at the helm (every society slowly devolves into a liberal free for all bastion until it collapses, so I'm happy to slow that descent as much as possible), but the petulance and retribution is quite annoying.
I suppose each generation has stress tests... the late 60s were remarkably concerning, especially 1968, but the country survived. Although one could argue the cultural shift from traditional values to independent hippieville was both inevitable but also responsible for many of the ills we see today.

FAFO.
The Biden Administration gave the Constitution a good screwing and nobody said nuthin'. They opened the door, with everything from institutionalized DIE theology to wave of the hand loan foregiveness and an abdication of a government's responsibility to safeguard its own borders.
They helped elect Trump to a powerful executive office and Trump has shown he's learned a few things while out of office. First, he's going to push the limits of executive authority. He's going to staff his cabinet with tough, loyal people and he's going to kick as many Biden loyalists to the curb as he can. Right now, he's negotiating his trade deals funneling his real estate developer personna. And right or wrong, there's no denying he has a vision of where he wants the country to go, besides the murky hell of the Biden years.
I think he believes he has around 22 months to do 90% of what he wants to accomplish in his term, unless his policies are very successful.
But consider the Silver Lining... The branches are co-equal, but Congress hasn't pulled its weight in years. Too many rules and funky interpretations of law by faceless bureaucrats in the alphabet agencies. Time for Congress to step up and do their job.

Not exactly sure "FAFO" is the most appropriate quality in a leader for our kids to see in the Presidency. And just because someone was doing their job doesn't make them "a Biden loyalist". Overall your post is pretty accurate, but there's a way to be just as effective while also being humble and compassionate.

Whether you like them or not, effective pols have a mean streak when it's needed. It's how they exercise power.
I absolutely despise Nancy Pelosi, but she was very good at being speaker, because she has a vindictive bitch streak a mile wide.
Politics ain't beanbag.

@Horace said in Trump says the USA will takeover Gaza:
Fafo would definitely apply if the west tried to make Gaza a vacation destination resort. I mean, I know it could work with that land, but all the suicide bombers would put a damper on tourism.
Not if all the would be suicide bombers and their sympathizers are concentrated in designer Strength through Joy gated communities located in inaccessible and remote areas far away from the exclusive Trumpyland World Paradise Resort on the Med.

@Renauda Can't cage ideas. There's plenty of crazies who can pass for non-crazy, and plenty of white westerners who would cheer them on.
No doubt and I’m sure there will be designer gated communities developed for them so they can share their views in an undisturbed setting of bucolic tranquility.
