I finally found veal shanks at a non-astronomical price at Wild Fork. Around here they are over $10 and 3/4 bone. These are really meaty, small bone. So..

Osso Buco! Going to saute the shanks in pancetta grease and use dry marsala instead of white wine. Should be interesting. Since one guest tonight is diabetic I'm not going to serve polenta or risotto, but asparagus and a simple green salad with olive oil and citrus.

Steve is bringing a nice Barolo. Should be a fine evening.

‘At’ is redundant in front of Chez. ‘Italian night chez Mik’ is better.

Don't you have a bike to ride or something?

Ha. Today was my day off. Already got my 50mi in for the week which is more than anyone should have to do on an indoor stationary bike.

That's a lot, I usually do 48, but I mix it up between arms and legs.

                  I do 100+ a week when I’m outside.

This is 5 days of 10mi, I try for a 15mph pace to get it done in 40m. About half the time I’m more like 14.7 or so and spend 41, 42m.

I bought this bad boy off Amazon last year. I hardly drive my pickup or suv anymore. Wonderful toy!

Very successful evening. Veal was best I’ve ever made, company was just as good. Worth doing.

I do. The appetizer tonight was marrow bones.
