Sean Spicer lets out a long sigh of relief. No crowd size drama this time.
That was a hoot, wasn't it?
Although if it was a nice day I bet he'd have a bigger crowd than 2016 with all of his MAGA followers.
MOAR car burnings too - though that might still happen.

Memorable as it was lie #1 of 30,573!

I think I posted here that I was in DC the weekend before the election and they were already building the inauguration platform. All I can think of is the months and months of work that went into that and now they're scrambling to prep the rotunda.
I wonder if he'll invite the Q-anon Shaman.

I would. And give him a signed flag.
Yes, we definitely need more complete whack-jobs involved in the political process as a way of counterbalancing the overbearing sanity that is Washington.

I would argue the real cause for moving indoors is owing to a January winter weather event rather than anything attributable to climate change. I realise too the satrical nature suggesting that climate change is the culprit. So, ha, ha, ha and 555. I also realize that the inauguration ceremony will include quite a few old geezers who could catch their death of cold if the festivities were to remain out of doors.

I mean, it’ll be cold but it’ll be the same temp that JFK dealt with for his (outdoor) inauguration and speech. I’m sure Trump was given the option and the he thought that yes it’ll be warmer but I guarantee he was happy not to have his small…crowds in the headlines again.

Let's ask Grok:
John F. Kennedy's inauguration took place on January 20, 1961. On that day in Washington, D.C., the temperature was relatively cold, with a high of 22°F (-5.6°C) and a low of 10°F (-12.2°C). At noon, during the swearing-in ceremony, the temperature was around 20°F (-6.7°C).
On January 21, 1985, during Ronald Reagan's second inauguration, the temperature in Washington, D.C. was extremely cold. At noon, the temperature was reported to be just 7°F (-14°C), with wind chills reaching as low as -25°F (-32°C). This made it the coldest inauguration on record, leading to the ceremony being moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda.
The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., on Monday, January 20, 2025, indicates very cold conditions. Here are the specifics:
Temperature: Highs are expected to be in the mid to upper 20s°F, with a high near 24°F. Lows will be in the single digits to low teens, around 10°F to 11°F.
Wind: Winds are expected to be significant, with gusts up to 20-30 mph, leading to wind chills that could feel like single digits or even lower.
Precipitation: No additional snow is expected on Monday, but there might be some snow on the ground from a storm the previous day, Sunday.
Sky Conditions: The day is expected to be mostly sunny to sunny, despite the cold. This forecast suggests a bitterly cold but mostly dry day for the inauguration, with the main concern being the wind chill making it feel much colder than the actual air temperature.

@Jolly said in Climate Change moves Trump's Inauguration:
And you know Trump is?
On the night of his inauguration in 2016, his press secretary, Sean Spicer, gave an impromptu press conference disputing the attendance at his inauguration.
That didn't happen in a vacuum.

Not talking about 2016. Trump likes big crowds, it feeds his ego. But...Because of inclimate weather, the ceremony needs to be inside. I don't think you get bragging rights for that, but it's the prudent thing to do

What about in a Dyson Sphere?
Is a Dyson Sphere empty?
In theory no, in reality who know if there is such a sphere. There is however a Dyson vacuum. I have one in hall closet.
