Colossal Biosciences Inc. is an American biotechnology and genetic engineering company working to de-extinct the woolly mammoth, the Tasmanian tiger, the northern white rhinoceros, and the dodo.
In October 2024, the company announced that it had rebuilt a 99.9% accurate genome of the thylacine, using a “pickled” 110-year-old fossilized Tasmanian tiger skull. This marks “the most complete ancient genome of any species known to date” and provides a full DNA blueprint to potentially bring back the Tasmanian tiger.[44][45] Three months later in January 2025, the company sequenced the complete genome of the Tasmanian tiger, bringing the species closer to de-exinction"

The same technology that brings back the woolly mammoth could also be used to clone Richard III, and before you know it you've got Richard III riding a freaking woolly mammoth.
Which would be kind of awesome.
(I initially wrote Hitler instead of Richard III, but realised that might have been considered slightly offensive by some. Plus, we're not sure where Hitler's remains are)

Sam Harris had this guy on his podcast a month or two ago. Title hs something to do with bringing back the wooly mammoth. Worth listening to.
I hope they do bring back the wooly mammoth, so that I'm not a liar. Considering my son asked me if they are still alive and I said yes...
