There's only one mall that is surviving in Cincinnati. Others are being torn down for redevelopment. It's a convergence of things in SF. Here it's just no one wants to go.

The three malls around here seem pretty busy to me. And two of them are outdoor!

10 years ago I would visit several Malls during December.

Now, none. It's mostly Amazon, with a little Gap and Target, all online.

Malls suck. They're dreadful, soul-less places. So is Amazon, obviously, but at least I don't have to drive there and struggle to find a horrible parking lot and eat in the food court with all the other plebs.

          I was only joking

Probably don't have to dodge homeless people and step over empty MD2020 bottles...

Well if the mall only has 3 stores, I'm not surprised it's empty. There is a mall near me that is surprisingly doing well, and I'm glad to see it. Not sure why, most likely nostalgia, but I enjoy the mall during the holidays, at least on the weekdays when it's not a zoo. The mall has also done a good job refreshing its anchor stores, for example it swapped out a Sears for a Dicks House of Sport, including an outdoor rink.

The store mix has definitely changed. Some things you prefer to buy in person. Most clothes and all shoes for example.

In recent years, when I go to a mall, more likely than not I went there to eat in the food courts.
