Re her post, the reasons he shouldn’t be SecDef have nothing to do with the DoD, and everything to do with Pete Hegseth.
No, she says that because of unproven allegations, that's disqualifying.
As was posted above, Tower might have been a womanizer, but we would have gotten someone who could run the DoD. He would have been competent.

Oh - I also listened to the first part of Megyn Kelly's interview with him.
About the NDA - he claims that her attorneys approached him at a time when his career was taking off and they threatened to expose this affair unless he paid up.
There was a lot of "Jesus is my savior" thrown in too. I gave up after about 15 minutes.
-
Maybe they should put him in charge of Veteran Affairs.
So many punchlines, so little time.

He's done. I expect a "withdraw my nomination" statement later today.

I agree - though maybe over the weekend.
Although I found the allegations against him to be a bit dodgy - especially the "rape"accusation - his qualifications always seemed to be a bit on the thin side.
Because you've done tours into a war zone, and your "buddies" support you, that's not enough to head a huge government department.

The reality is he was chosen because of his celebrity more than his combat experience. After all, there are thousands of people with that. And doing Fox stuff definitely doesn't prepare anybody for running a government department.

I think a lot of you are forgetting his masters degree in Public Policy and the several books that he’s written detailing the inadequacies of today’s military and list ls multiple ways to fix those inadequacies. Those books are very highly regarded among retired military officers.
It’s a mistake to dismiss him out of hand as being a celebrity pick. Quite frankly, the weekend cohost of Fox & Friends is hardly great celebrity. The guy is a serious military pedagogue.

Forgotten? I was unaware.
-
I forget nothing. I know little.

The media will focus on the women in combat, removal of trans soldiers, firing the woke generals, etc…
They aren’t talking about the ideas of completely revamping the promotion structure of the military. The new education programs for training officers, etc… They also are ignoring his take on the very nature of the purpose of the military.
