It's really easy to see Vance as Tom Hagen.

It's pretty easy to see Vance as Lucy Mancini for those of us who read the book before seeing the movie.

I read the book 25 (?) years ago.

I commend you on your memory of a relatively minor character.

Indeed. I remember her too. I read the book before the movie came out. It was very instructive for a young man.

I was about 13 years old, and I think I read that bit about 25 times.

@Doctor-Phibes with no memory of the character or the role in the greater story, help me out here. Is there something that you would like to share, having been a pre-pubescent male having "read that bit about 25 times"?

If memory serves, she was sorted out by Sonny Corleone on a number of occasions prior to him dying of lead-poisoning, before finally having surgery to correct some slackness in her feminine areas.

It's funny what I can remember.

                    Yeah. "Funny" is one word.

                    I'm sure there are others.

If you could ask Phibe’s mom, she’d tell you the truth. It all comes out in the laundry.

If it makes you feel any better, the unbidden comparison between Lucy and J.D. Vance has pretty much destroyed those memories of my childhood.

                        I was only joking
