Heads-up, Jolly

True story...I was about 12 feet up a tree, watching an opening in a switchcane thicket on the Tensas Refuge. Saw the switchcane move a bit, so I drew my bow and got ready.
When it came into the opening, it wasn't a deer, it was a bear. Black bear do not hibernate in Louisiana. Illegal to shoot a bear on the refuge. $60,000 fine.
So, this shaggy sucker smells me after a bit, ambles over to about 20 feet from the base of my tree and proceeds to stand up on his hind legs, sniffing and looking until he found me.
I'm sitting there with an arrow knocked, trying to figure out A) if I can draw, aim and put a stick in this bear before he jumps in my lap, and B) In the event I kill him, what the hell I'm going to do.
Luckily, he figured I wasn't worth the effort. He dropped down and fed around me until after dark. Which means I had to climb down out of the tree after dark.
Fun times, indeed!

@Jolly wow!
One time @Aqua-Letifer and I went camping in college. High up near a cliff. At night we went to sit by the cliff and turned around to the sight, sounds, and silhouette of a bear by our fire. Trapped! We were. The cliff our only escape.
Luckily it turned out to be a loose garbage bag.
