During the first half, it sounded like she just didn’t really want to be there. In the middle of it, I can almost hear her think “ Oh God, this is for real. If I win, I have to deal with this shit rather than sitting in my office playing solitaire”(that’s a thing, by the way). By the last? It sounds like she is close to crying.

"Our joint defenses have been (turns page) effective."
"MY commitment to the security of Israel is unwavering."
"My?"

She came off as uninvolved and reading a script that she'd never seen until that moment.

Don't worry ... there is still a chance Trump will put out a stupider statement.

Oh, without question. But he’ll sound like he means it and that he wants to be there.
Her voice actually wavered when she said “unwavering commitment”.

I was at the beach house, helping POTUS do some "commanding." Someone forgot to pack me up.

So it's not just me. When I hear her speak, I feel like I can sense her inner monologue the whole time, usually one of self-doubt and panic.

Reminds me of this brilliant job by Dana Carvey, go to the 10:20 mark... had me cracking up. The walk, the "and by the way"...

That was one of Vance’s best tactics in the debate. Yes, it was done to death, but it kind of needed to be. And reminding people that instead of blindly trusting the promises of the future, both Presidential candidates have a record that you can look back on.
