Cabin filter question

I’ve got a 3 hour drive with the kitties. Am I better off with the recirculate feature on, hoping the cabin filter gets everything, or turn it off and pull in more outside air?

Put kitties on roof.

Not an expert at all, but I think you would want outside air. Doesn't the outside air go through the cabin filter also? Just starts from a different source?
If you are driving, I would open just a little bit the driver window and open a little bit the passenger back window.

I say keep them in the trunk if not too hot.

Just eat them and regurgitate them back up at your destination

When we drove long distances with assorted animals (from Ontario to Massachusetts with a dog, a cat and a 2 year-old toddler), we most definitely did not use re-circulate. The smell became quite interesting over time.
