I haven't really posted about it - my daughter is starting her second year doing science - majoring in biology. My son's path was a bit more complicated - he did 1 year of mechanical engineering in Boston which he absolutely hated, then worked for a year, then did two years at community college, and is now finishing a bachelors in criminal justice, which for some reason I can't really figure out has discovered that he really loves.

I have a relative who was briefly fascinated by the study of "criminal justice," but ended up being a lawyer.
Does your son look like he may want to go to law school later, or leaning more towards police academy, Quantico, forensic tech, private investigator, or something else?

Overall, good job dad (and mom). Clearly bright kids. My brother started with mechanical engineering before deciding it wasn't for him and switching to civil engineering in which he has so far converted into a very nice career in Virginia. And while not criminal justice, I do recall during my MBA program that I really, and unexpectedly, enjoyed the "legal" class.

We just returned from three weeks of hiking and kayaking along the Sechelt Peninsula, better known as the Sunshine Coast, north of Vancouver.
Do not anticipate that there will be another summer vacation that will include the son (and dog). He’ll be 18 in February. Time flys.

No, he has had enough of the bush camping experience - we have been doing it annually for two or more weeks since he was five. He hates it and lake kayaking. The past couple of years he has become a waste of field rations during family camp outs.
Essentially it is a case of mom and dad have become boring. All they do is work.
