In the middle of all this crap, with all of this fear, the unrest, the uncertainty?

My store has had it's best June/July we've ever had and we're already off to a helluva start for August.

Our other store in Maryland has probably doubled it's year to date budget that was set in January before anybody ever uttered the word COVID in the US...

Despite all of the uncertainty and trials for many industries, it's a boon time for ours and others. I understand that home remodels are through the roof. It seems like for once, home is where the heart is. I wonder how long it will last?

      Same here, LF D!

Our sales June/July certainly made up for the Spring. Our July sales are on track to be even better than the Xmas season.

Don't know why. I've pumped a lot of money into advertising, completely redesigned one of the websites. Maybe that is part of it. Or, maybe people that hunkered down and didn't spend, are now comfortable spending even if hunkered down. Or, Google changed their algorithm. Or, Jesus loves me. Or, something.

It's been a very weird year. We had a couple of large events planned for early and Mid-March. When our county schools closed in early March, I figured we were toast, but instead we were hit with almost a manic buying frenzy. Yes, our appointment totals dropped to half of the normal amounts, but just about every single one of them bought something. Then going into April, we switched to an online presence, and prepared to turtle up, but business kept moving. Not at 2019 levels, but plenty good enough to have us start to feel some confidence. Every month since then has improved.

@jon-nyc Good for the time being. As soon as the vaccine comes out, we are in for hard times.

People are spending a lot more time at home and rediscovering things they were too distracted to do.

Sounds like you've weeded out the folks who aren't serious about buying. That's actually a time saver for you and the rest of your staff.

I'm not looking for any kind of pat on the back, just pointing out that while everybody is talking about the economy, there is still a lot of money being spent. It's just shifted where. I am curious to see the long term effects.

The salon rises again. Not sure all the kids are so bereft they want to master the piano.

@LuFins-Dad Bike shops are doing good. Puzzle making companies are doing good. Home exercise stores are doing good.

Glad to see that music instrument stores are doing well also.

Just an update, business is still going gangbuster, maybe too much so. We are starting to see shortages on some of the most popular models...

Congrats! The k shaped recovery is helping some traditional non digital businesses for sure. AutoNation had its best quarter ever declaring the car as a place of refuge in the times of Covid.

Great, but the potential back order issue is pretty serious. Some of the instruments I am ordering now won’t be shipped until March/April...
