He continued, "From time immemorial, our ancestors lived in the Great Lakes region. However, in 1849, an illegal auction by the U.S. government forcibly removed our tribe from our homeland. Since then, we have been working to reclaim it."
"From time immemorial" meaning the time this Indigenous guy took it away from some other Indigenous guy.

LOL isn't that the truth. It was only illegal when the USA did it because... we won. You'd think history class would teach less about gender protests and more about how countries formed over time. Whoever was stronger.

Yeah. Didn't see it but the thing I read was that he did not give his speech until almost 10:30 pm US time.
President Biden is a prefect example of why people stay in a position (politics, sports, business) too long. They get addicted to the power and cheers, not realizing until the end that the people are cheering for them not because of the person they are, but more because of the power they have.
One minute, people are tripping themselfs to be close to you, the next, you are speaking at 10:30 pm when people are tired and bored, and then sent off on a plane not to be seen again.
