Twinkies are cheaper than Little Debbie…
When I was a kid, a major socioeconomic determining factor was whether your parents bought a box of Twinkie's for snack cakes (Roughly $4 for a box of 16 individually wrapped cakes) or Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls ($1 for a box of 8 double packed, total of 16 cakes).
Now they are both extremely expensive, but the Twinkie is cheaper…

I loved peeling the chocolate like substance off those cake rolls.

Little Debbie at my house. The only time we got Twinkies or Ding-Dongs was if Mom had been by the day-old bread store.

My mother wouldn’t buy them. Not sure if that was about health or $. Probably the latter.

Mine either. But Janet will buy LDs from time to time. I won’t touch them.
But I did just have a couple Pecan Sandies wit Cranberries. Yum.

We used to get Drake’s Cakes, they might have been regional.

Ate, and more or less liked, those Little Debbie chocolate cakes in my late teens.
But haven’t have one for a long time and haven’t think of it until reading this thread. :man-shrugging: -

Never had one, and I'm too old to start experimenting.
ETA: Why are they called "Swiss?"

Drake's coffee cakes are terrific. Somewhat regional...
