For all practical purposes, I was raised by my grandmother.

I’ve likely walked more dogs on a leash than anybody else here. That’s often how I hold the leash if the dog’s well trained or a smaller and weaker dog.
The dog does look a little excited as it’s a new environment, but that’s normal.

Yeah, doesn't seem to be anything wrong with how he is holding the leash.
