In most every way I’m in better shape now than at 40. Part of it is new lungs, obviously, but also I’ll put 200+mi on my bike this week and still hit the gym most every day.

    It helps that I’m semi-retired.

I didn't notice any change during my 40's, but things seemed to go south as I turned 50. Maybe I can put off the 60s decline until I turn 70 in 2033.

      I was only joking

I didn't notice any change when I turned 44. Turning 70 added some health issues (need for better control of hypertension, some weight loss) but as far as how I felt there was no difference.

I'll get back to you guys in 4 years.

And, shut the fuck up, Jon.

I take great comfort in the fact that you'll be surprised by just how quickly you get there. It feels like yesterday when I turned 40.

George was 55 when we started this board. I’ll be 56 in a few weeks. I get that time creeps up on us.

Wow. Yeah I was 23 when I first posted "I'll debate any liberal about anything!" or something back on PW in 2005. Now I'm 42. Sometimes I'll see pictures of Riley's or JGOO's kid on facebook and, wow.

When this board started, We lived for three months in a brown paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six o'clock in the morning, clean the bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down mill for fourteen hours a day week in-week out.

I thought you left New Jersey as a kid.
