He's usually a bit more erudite than that, even through his folksiness.

Seems like, at 80, he’s all out of fucks.

Whoops, my bad. He did stand on the tarmac at Bagram.

As part of a Congressional delegation. He conveniently didn't mention that fact in his speech,

                https://desjarlais.house.gov/2011/10/representative-desjarlais-returns-from-healthcare-focused-congressional

He wasn't in the Guard at that time.

Just got back from a lake vacation with the family (vacation = just a trip where we relocate the bedtime routine with kids) so I haven't read this thread or most other threads but....

Under Walz it seems we have a surplus (but also higher taxes), great schools, great parks, free school lunches for all kids, and one of the higher ranking states in most categories. So in my direct personal life, aside from the higher income taxes, he's done a great job. In terms of things that don't really impact me but I disagree with... his support for trans and abortion support and other liberal policies is not preferred.

So lying is not a big deal as long as it makes your life better.

In 2019 the state ranked 10th in the nation in public education. Today it's ranked 15th. That's called a trend https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/public-school-rankings-by-state

Economic growth has trailed the national average by damn near 50%

Crime rates started spiking in Minnesota in 2019, before anybody ever heard of George Floyd, and continued to rise through 2021. It's come down some following 2021, but is still above the 2020 levels during the Floyd riots.

It still might be a great place right now, but is it as good as it was before Walz took office?

Don't be mad that Minnesota is ranked #4 and Virginia is #13!

                            https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/rankings

Semi-kidding. I come from a completely anecdotal place. I know the parks are amazing, I moved specifically into the best school district in the state, there is a surplus in the state budget that they have recently passed into areas like education in 2023, sure I'm not "downtown" but there is almost zero crime that I hear or see, the job market is full, health care is up there with the best... how much this has to do with Walz? Probably not much, just as the President doesn't really impact as much as we think, either.

You'll have to catch me up. I haven't caught up with news since my vacation. I was asked how Walz did and I gave what the general impression is. Libs love him, conservatives don't, the state overall was doing very well, and continues to be ranked high or above average... if there is an issue with lying, I'll have the same reaction to it as I do with Trump's lies.

Economic growth has trailed the national average by damn near 50%

Crime rates started spiking in Minnesota in 2019, before anybody ever heard of George Floyd, and continued to rise through 2021. It's come down some following 2021, but is still above the 2020 levels during the Floyd riots.

Crime has fallen most everywhere under Joe Biden.

                                      89th? Paging 89th....

In 2019 the state ranked 10th in the nation in public education. Today it's ranked 15th. That's called a trend https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/public-school-rankings-by-state

Overall crime fell under Trump as well, until 2000. You might recall there was a little unrest at that time.

No, Gov Walz. You were not THE coach. You were AN assistant coach.

I think we also have a problem in many cities with unreported crime. A problem that was not as prevalent a few years ago.
