    Two different types of democrats with appeals to different types within the state.

    I get that he’s newer, and I personally don’t trust the guy, but Fetterman would not be the worst choice for Kamala.

      Chris Christie pointed out Trump’s role in getting Shapiro elected governor - by endorsing Mastriano, the weakest republican in the field.

      How funny if that ends up costing him the general.

      Thank you for your attention to this matter.

        Picking Fetterman assures that they would not be able to focus on issues rather than constantly being on the defense about whether he was ready to be a heartbeat away.

          @Mik said in Shapiro?:

          Like Vance? Both became Senators in 22. Fetterman was PA Lt. Governor before that… Vance was an author… That’s not a discussion that plays to the Republicans…

            It's about his health, not his experience. Plus, can you imagine Fetterman showing up at the G9 in a hoodie and shorts?

              Yeah but people who don’t know who he is could be introduced to him via video of him at his worst, health wise.

              (By the way, it wasn’t long ago when that would have been considered off limits)

                Too much baggage. I am led to understand that Shapiro may have some as well, but it's not as readily apparent.

                      Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, another finalist, avoided the green-room circuit and instead touted Harris and his own record at a series of events throughout the state. A pro-Harris event in Philadelphia turned into a Shapiro-for-VP party.

                      His style was seen by at least some in Harris’ world as showboating. One senior Democrat in touch with Harris’ team called it “counterproductive.”

                      And there was a sense within Shapiro’s team that, unlike Walz, his interview with Harris did not go as well as it could have. There was “not a great feeling” coming out of it, according to a person in touch with his advisers.

                      After their meeting on Sunday, Shapiro called Harris’ team and made clear that he was “struggling with the decision to leave his current job as governor of Pennsylvania, in order to seek the vice presidency,” according to a person familiar with the selection process.

                        One thing for sure is that this process elevated his stature. If Harris loses he’ll be a top candidate in 2028.

                          It's a shame they didn't run him to begin with. Or someone. Anyone.

                                @Jolly the article in Politico above (post #35) made a similar point.
