Enjoying (?) season 2 of "Interview with the Vampire."
Read the 1st book about a year ago, and really enjoyed season 1.
Season 2's premise has a much stronger presence of Daniel Malloy (the Interviewer) and many, many flashbacks.
I'm finding the "Claudia" sub-plot tiresome so far.
The over-powering presence of Lestat is great.
Great production values (costumes, sets, and post WWII Paris) and the acting is fun. "Santiago" comes off as menacing as I remember him in the book.
Link to videoAs "artsy" as "The Bear" is, much of the artsy-fartsy stuff is mindless filler. In "Interview" it's just as artsy, but every inclusion of the artsy stuff moves the story.
Very well done, so far - I have 3 episodes to go.

Started "Peaky Blinders" the other day. Watched 3 episodes.
Interesting, but I'm not hopeful that it'll turn out to be warmed-over Sopranos in the 1920s. Sets, costumes, acting are all first-rate (and I love Sam Neill), but the storyline seems pretty recycled.
Gave it another shot this weekend.
It's a slow, slow burn.
I ripped through season 1 this weekend (6 episodes). I really underestimated it. Much better than I remember it being. Murphy and Neil are great, and there's lots of interesting subplots to keep you interested.
I'll probably start season 2 next weekend.

Finished Presumed Innocent - ok -
I vaguely remember the book - Turow's stories tend to blur together.
But, I was very disappointed in the double double cross at the ending. Yeah, from a logical standpoint, it could make sense.
But..really? You want me to believe that?
started Lady In The Lake. Kind of hard to watch. Stylish but perhaps preachy.
I didn't even get to the preachy part. Gave up. Should I give it a more extended chance?
"Stylish?" See my comments on "The Bear's" third season.

Very good. Excellent, as a matter of fact.
Fantastic sets and costumes.
Each season is 6 episodes, so it's good for a weekend binge.
Fun watching Cillian Murphy as the head of a crime family.
It's loosely-based on the gangs in Birmingham who did all kinds of nasty stuff between 1880 and the 1920s.
I think this is a fan-made video, but it gives you a taste.

Binged this last weekend. I love thrillers...
Link to videoGreat first episode. A few interesting twists, and then...a totally disappointing and unsatisfying ending.
I mean, if you're going to make the bad guy be the bad guy, at least drop some hints throughout the story and not make it an out-of-nowhere surprise.
2 out of 5 stars.

6 part Netflix Docudrama
Watched the 1st episode, narrated by Ed Harris. Very well done, engrossing story about the Gunfight at the OK Corral, the Earp Brothers, and all that stuff.
Don't know how historically accurate it is, but I'm enjoying.

Retire.
ETA: Watched one episode (at 1.25 speed) before lunch. G3 came to visit after lunch until about 2:30. Watched another two, and took a nice 45 minute nap.
That's how.

Also spent about 2 hours re-reading Walker's book on sleep.

It's oddly great for the first couple of seasons. Then, it gets just odd with a sort-of unsatisfying finale. It was "good enough" as an ending, but the series was cancelled before they could wrap it up properly.
