Some of those videos...not sure a human would've seen an obstacle coming. That being said, I don't live in futuristic California, but I'm not sure I would ever rely on auto-pilot in a car. Maybe in a few decades.

It's kind of weird. The Tesla will start turning just a little bit later than a person would. It takes some getting used to.

I'm the same - when I'm on the highway my foot is forever hovering over the break pedal just in case. Probably for the best.

Same. I use it on longer road trips but never for a second rely on it to keep me safe.

My rental had cruise control of course but I never used it and never will. As I don’t at home. don’t want to feel like I can doze off and do nothing. I like controlling a car.

I'm a wimp and my right foot starts to ache after a few hours. Guess I could switch to the left foot.

I understand the worry about sleeping.

But on a long ride the reduced stress should also reduce fatigue. And allow you to focus more on potential targets outside.

That is certainly true in an airplane, the autopilot reduces the workload. Of course the autopilot might occasionally get flaky, so pay attention.

I use cruise control when ever I can. (Don't have the adaptive, but the regular). I think it is great and helps a lot.

I love adaptive cruise control when I'm stuck in traffic. On my way home from downtown, I park myself in a lane and veg out for the ride home.
