The Ohio legislature fixed it when they thought it didn’t mean anything because the DNC had already decided to do the virtual nomination.

Anyone can get the money as in-kind donations from the DNC. Cash can be spent in behalf of anyone, like a giant superpac.

Yep, the only real advantage to a Kamala ticket is using the already established ticket infrastructure. Shifting candidates would require rebuilding that infrastructure, likely using most of the elements already established, but there would need to be some overhaul and restructuring.

Yeah, all that talk about the money is nonsense. It will still get used in the same way. You think they’d ever craft rules that would prevent that? Window dressing.

You want to beat Trump? Nominate Kennedy.

          That would be fun…

If you don’t want to beat Trump, ask Bernie to run, then pool your resources to protect the Senate and go after the House.

@Jolly said in Dems should nominate Romney:

              Sacrificial lamb?

Yeah, but they toss a bone to the radical left while giving themselves an out for going with a moderate in 2028…

I think the DNC has north of 200MM that they can use on any candidate. The Biden-Harris campaign has around 80MM that Harris could control, other candidates could benefit from it but not control it (like a SuperPac)

Would Biden and Kamala have to sign off on any way for the money to be used like a PAC?

Would they be the leaders of the PAC?

They would have to sign off on transferring it to a super pac. They presumably would find professionals to run it.

Odder still is the fact that a very large chunk of the GOP has disavowed most everyone they’ve voted for in the 40 years prior to 2016.
