Google Image Search

So, in another thread, I wanted to post a picture of a woman eating pizza. So I ran a quick search on Google… Simple thing, right?
It was a little weird to find Google returning ~ 50% of the results as “WoC”
DEI at work… It was very out of proportion.
Equally weird and disconcerting was that all of the images are licensable posed pictures from various companies…
Then, there was the AI generated pictures..
We are doomed…

I could have predicted that. Just watch any collection of ads on the TV....
Guess who's underrepresented (by percentage)...

Italians would be my guess.

Did you try "American woman eating a pizza"?
Google may fancy itself an international search engine and when the global population is considered, the majority are in fact "people of color." -

I have a (white male) colleague. We send each other stuff like this. Our company loves the corporate crap like unnecessary trainings or benefits overviews. We like to see how little white male/family representation there is. Such as this gem from earlier this week. 15 people, no white males.

I Googled "Fat American Eating Pizza" and it was quite a bit more representative of reality.
