D4 didn't use one on her older phone. With it banging around in her purse, against keys and all the other detritus you'll find in a 34 year old woman's purse, the screen got scratched up.

        I can see that.

This topic just came up because I got my girlfriend a new iPhone and she always had a screen protector on previous phones. Maybe I'll get her one.

I use my iPhone for distances on the golf course every morning.

It gets banged around. The protector is covered with scratches.

I don't, no case either. No scratches and I've had the iPhone 12 for like 3 years. I guess it depends if you keep it somewhere (like a purse) where it could get scratched up. My wife uses one and I've been telling her for years it is no longer necessary, but she does a few things that are pointless that I don't argue with.

Since you asked (heh), one is every time we fill the van with gas she resets the "trip odometer" since it resets the MPG usage. Has she ever once, in so many years, looked at her trip MPG usage or odometer? No. Another thing she does, which is kind of old school good habit, but equally pointless, is she pays a bill (sometimes online, sometimes via check) and she always balances her checking account in her checkbook. Even though... the transactions (online or check) are clearly visible on the website. Of course I am perfect so she has nothing to say about me.

Your wife and my girlfriend should start a support group. It must be tough living with perfect people.

We need to start a "Annoying things my s/o does."

                    Well, maybe not...

For me it would be “cute little endearing things my s/o does that will bug the shit out of me 2 years from now”
