Post-transition Transgender suicide attempts

It’s published on NIH, that doesn’t make it an NIH study. I can find no references on John J Straub at all

Since a surgical transition is qualitatively suicidal, these results might track with future suicide risk of those who've attempted suicide once, vs those who've never attempted.

Okay, looks like a project/thesis through University of Texas, Galveston by students but with oversight by two professors. Not exactly NIH but much better than some internet rando.
Now the methods need scrutiny.
I’m not wanting to be overly critical, but there was/is so much crap put out there as science, that it is vital the studies that dispute them be meticulously well crafted and considered.

He’s got one other publication on PubMed, in cardiology.
He’s listed as a student. If you open George’s second link it provides all the authors of the study and click on the name for their creds. As I mentioned, all students, the one guy is at least a medical student, most of the other seem to be statistics or IT and two professors. One in Psychiatry.

Psychiatry, not psychology.
So, two docs (one a professor at U of Texas), some medical ("grad") students, some research assistants.

Yeah, already cross edited.

Now that doesn’t diminish their findings, but that could be used to twist public perception. It would be nice if a follow up was conducted by some people with more letters after their names.
