I guess this may have indirectly to do with the Palestine protests.

    Education is extremely important.

Maybe the pendulum IS starting to slow… Not ready to say it’s swinging the other way yet, but it appears to be at about the apex…

Glenn Loury (in the interview I posted about this morning) said that we’ve passed peak woke.

That may well change if Trump is elected. We’ll see

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

Applicants were required to submit “a statement regarding their views on diversity, inclusion, and belonging, including past and current contributions as well as their vision and plans for the future in these areas”.

          That is pretty bad.

I can't imagine more than a handful of DEIs going along with something like that.

I guess everyone was going along with it, until now.

          That is scary.

Seriously though, good on MIT to end it. Let’s hope more follow.

Good point. My company had a 50 page benefits guide during open enrollment and lots of stock images of families and people being healthy. It took like 23 pages before I found a white couple.

Seriously, though? Any chance that when the pendulum swings back that we can go through a 20-30 year period of semi-libertarian principles where the government just stays out of things as much as possible?

Unfortunately, and I hope I'm wrong and I know every "youth" generation is further left than their parents, BUT... it seems there is a strong foundation of left-leaning ideals embedded in youths today that'll slowly push out conservative ideals as their cohort ages....eventually seeing a permanent minority across all age groups for conservative principles.

In other words, kids are so comfortable with concepts today that would've been insanity 30 years ago, such as gay marriage or men dressing up as women, and also comfortable with heavy government reliance and involvement... it's hard to see them grow out of such a mindset. Damn whippersnappers.

Other than throwing everybody into prison who ever wrote any online criticism of Donald Trump, I mean. That's obviously a done deal, but beyond that, what would a right-wing zealotry period look like?

Actually, it looks like more boys are trending conservative and are becoming less likely to attend college, which is limiting some of the indoctrination coming from the left. It also seems likely that parents are keeping a much closer eye on what is being taught in the school curriculums and in the classroom. I expect there to be some sweeping changes in the public school systems tamping down the rhetoric and indoctrination, and I think you will see more subtle shifts at the collegiate level. There were 2 major victories at colleges just this past week.

Actually, it looks like more boys are trending conservative and are becoming less likely to attend college, which is limiting some of the indoctrination coming from the left. Looks like the boys are refusing to continue the patriarchy by refusing to be edumacated. The matriarchy will rise as the girls/women control more and more of the information and technology.
