600 sq feet is not too bad a size. Lots of smaller places out there.

I do not have a large home. My living room is 20x20.

Some people live in discarded appliance boxes. I choose not to do so.

I’ve seen it many times. Cool little building. There are actually a lot of houses not that much larger in the neighborhood. They might be 10’-12’ wide.

Looks like a jail with all the bars on the windows and doors.

Is that price reflective of the market?

Can’t honestly say. Seems a little low vs an equivalent sized condo.

One of the better comments I've seen on building a new home and trying to keep costs down:

If you see it on HGTV don't do it. If you see something on the Chip & Joanna freak show, don't do it. Spend money behind the walls on quality systems, insulation, better windows and doors, superior HVAC, all the better. People, especially women, get too emotional about the finishes which tend to come into and quickly go out of style.

We’ve probably over-invested into a few items in our townhouse, but if we never leave, I do not want to install another HVAC system. So we spent $5K more than we could have. I think that will pay off eventually.

When Karla’s raised garden wall made of landscape timbers rotted, I asked myself if I wanted to keep tearing it out every 5 years and replacing. Nope. So not only did I build a brick wall, the thing is twice as deep as it is tall, with another 18” under that of gravel, sand, and a drainage pipe. I also sunk a lot of rebar. That wall is going nowhere in the next 80 years…

That led to the paver patio… We were told, oh just dig down 6” put 4” of sand and 2” pavers. With good edging it will be fine… Nope. Dug 24”, dropped 14” of gravel for drainage, and a bed of 8” of sand. Hired pros to come in and cut and fit the pavers. That sucker ain’t going anywhere. Won’t ever get that time and money back when we resell, but I’m also not going to be bitching in 10 years.

Why resell? You've got decent weather, a decent neighborhood, a good home.

Unless you can no longer manage the place, stay.

Well, moving closer to grandkids might be a good enough reason...

Well, location is everything I guess.

$600k will get you this down here...Sorry, no plantation, just 17 acres goes with the house...
