My worry about "just asking questions" is that it has demonstrably led to many people embracing conservative values, such as market economies. If you want to cook in earth's atmosphere as we create a hell on earth through late stage capitalism, and call it the "answer" to our "mere questions", then I wish you could do it without creating a hell for everybody else.
Marxism is clearly the better way, and we need to start asking the right questions to lead us along that path.

The student was entirely ill-equipped with anecdotes about what Rowling wrote, but not everybody is so ill-equipped. More compelling stories can be woven to justify considering her a bigot. This was not an pwnage by critical thought, but rather a lack of preparation by whomever indoctrinated the student into the rowing-as-bigot narrative. Which, probably, was just some random shitpost on the internet.
Education is extremely important.

Still, a very good illustration of how people, especially young people, just parrot what they are told is stylish to believe rather than examining it critically.

Agree 100%. The US does not seem to normally hold teachers "accountable".

Agree with both of you.
(But on the side, I guess what happened to him is a good reason to not to keep private/personal stuff on work computers. Because it could get lost if your work computer is taken.)

It sounds like he did the podcast circuit, so it’s always possible that he stepped in it by saying something during one of those appearances, but I think we all know the Rowling video was the catalyst. Which makes you wonder, if this guy gets fired even with getting some publicity, what about the teachers that have no visibility? This guy will get a job offer by some media group or conservative school. Hell, maybe Rowling will set him up with something… but there are many more teachers out there with no choice but to go along to get along.
