As an older, straight, white male (I am, as a point of fact, a biologist), am I permitted to attend any of these ceremonies?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

They'll go ahead and claim the part of their ancestry that makes them most cool and oppressed, I would assume.

          Education is extremely important.

That would be logical. Or what passes for logical these days.

Set theory and fuzzy logic are important things to learn.

I see a lot of morbid identities.

                Doesn't Hofstra have a phys-ed class?

Similar to the trans concept... I find it mind boggling that anyone could want or support this or not see the insanity in it. For example, the first generation commencement... why not provide a better honor and ask during the general commencement for any first generation student to stand up so folks can applaud. Why quarantine that to an echo chamber room?

That is a very good point.
