I was just observing my neighbors' son, now 16 or so, and his SMOKING hot date for prom. They were taking pictures.
This kid was born with some learning disabilities, particularly in speech. Until he was three all he'd do was screech like an eagle. God bless my neighbors, they got him the help he needed and through all their dedicated parenting they got this kid mainstreamed and doing well. He's in marching band and other activities. Had he lesser parents he probably would have been in special ed programs.

Yup, parent involvement makes a huge huge difference in how a child grows up. Most (but not all) of the problem children, it is easy to see that there was very little parents involvement.
