https://www.americamagazine.org/politics-society/2021/11/10/clergy-abuse-allegations-audit-241814link textOf course, those are just allegations - but's good to remember that there are many allegations against youth pastors, ministers and other religiously affiliated people from other denominations out there as well - and likely a good portion are never reported.
Anywhere that people have influence or power over others - there's room for abuse. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to play with narratives that garner clicks, laughs, votes and/or followers.

Yes, there is a perception (me included) that if a person has a certain job, they are somehow more "moral" than the general population.
There is some true in that but there are always going to be bad people in whatever job function exists (police, religious, military, religious, teachers, etc.)
