Would you buy a refurbished hard drive?

I have bought refurbished computers with no problems.
(But for some reason, I would hesitate to buy a refurbished hard drive. Kind of weird as a computer has a hard drive and no problem for me to buy)

Apple's computers, when refurbished, are about 10% less than equivalent new models. They offer the same warranty, etc.
Just something about an "eBay refurbished" hard drive sounds wrong.
