I agree with @Aqua-Letifer @Mik and @Holly
People are social and like to have interaction with other people. Any trend to decrease this is not overall good for society.

And yeah, don't like this idea at all. Heck, on Saturday mornings I take my kids to the donut store. There is a kiosk to order from and 100 times out of 100 I take the kids up to the counter to order from the cashier. The kids need to learn how to interact and, honestly, it's cute watching them pick out their donuts.

These are the days. I look back on those Saturday mornings going to karate, archery, the movies etc. with such pleasure. Then suddenly...'Dad I need the car...'

Yeah I can appreciate I'm in the good old days while I'm in them. That being said, grass is often greener... the fight to get a coat or pair of shoes on will give me gray (sorry, grey) hair. And the fact that I am unable to have reliable time between 7-11pm or 4-6am to attempt a workout, is hard because I know I'm getting out of shape. And general lack of sleep isn't healthy either, I feel it each morning. That being said, I am 100% in no rush for the kids to grow up.

They get older, they don't grow up. At least, that's been my experience so far. Some people who shall remain nameless have very unkindly said something similar about the oldest member of the family.

If it will help to interpret my point charitably, you might concede the political polarization of our culture and the huge numbers of people who will full stop not share space with those who are on the opposite side of the issues they find to be of extreme moral or existential importance.

Dinners or parties or walking groups or workplace or family interactions. I guess you can claim that such interactions aren't precarious as they edge into politics or social issues, I mean you can write that if you want.
Education is extremely important.

I've had business meals where people started going off about politics. One guy I was meeting just before the 2016 election said Hillary was a communist, and I'm ashamed to say I LOL'd. I was definitely in the minority at that particular meeting as my boss is a Trump sympathiser, however he clearly saw the funny side. The other guy, not so much, but he'd already made me sit through grace before dinner, so I figured enough was enough.

If I understand that back and froth between @Horace and @jon-nyc , I think I agree with Jon a bit more.
I meet quite a few people I have not met before, and it is pretty easy to have a good conversation with them without moving into topics that would be a controversy.
