    Haley was correct in her SC speech - Trump drives people away when he talks. What she did not say is that he wins supporters with every corrupt legal maneuver by the Dems.

      Well, looks like Trump whipped her by 20 points in her own state.

      She runs as an independent and her political career is over. I have my doubts.

      He was always projected to win.

      But a 60/40 win isn't what they expected weeks ago. He was supposed to have at least twice that of the next candidate. I do find it interesting that since mid-January, Nikki has gone up 13 points, Trump has gone up 3.

      Most of the DeSantis (et al) nominee voters went to Nikki.

      Here were the SC polls for the last 6 months:

      Purple = Donald
      Red = Nikki

      I'm telling you, the lack of enthusiasm for Trump compared to 2020 (where he lost as well) should greatly concern you if you want Biden out of office.

          @Jolly do you think Trump or Nikki would fare better against Biden? Just curious.

              Nikki Haley to Exit Republican Presidential Race

              Nikki Haley plans to suspend her Republican presidential primary bid in a speech Wednesday morning, people familiar with her plans told The Wall Street Journal.

              The former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador is expected to make an appearance to deliver brief remarks in the Charleston, S.C., area around 10 a.m. ET. Her decision arrived the day after Super Tuesday, when she won only Vermont among 15 states that held GOP contests.

              Haley won’t announce an endorsement Wednesday, the people said. She will encourage Donald Trump, who is close to having the delegates needed to win the GOP nomination, to earn the support of Republican and independent voters who backed her.

              She is expected to emphasize that she will continue to advocate for the conservative domestic and foreign policies she supports and caution against some of the dangers, such as isolationism and a lack of fiscal discipline, that she sees coming from Washington.

                Her campaign turned out to be a forlorn hope after all. Sad.

                Elbows up!

                  Never say die. I would not be at all surprised with an independent run.

                      Although I agree with you in theory, I fear that she would draw enough of the Republican electorate away to guarantee a win for Biden.

                        Biden is going to win unless he dies. When he wins, it essentially guarantees a GOP win in 2028 against Kamala. So there is hope in the future...

                          I still think @LuFins-Dad right when he predicted a while ago that once President Biden has enough delegates, there will be a way to announce he is dropping out (medical reason or something like that). Since he will have secured the nomination, he will be able to appoint someone to take his place, and I don't think it will be VP Harris.

                            Yeah, the guy is going downhill. If the trend continues we'll see an even slower Biden in the summer.

                              The decline over four years is amazing. I wonder how much we’ll see in there next months.

                                I think unfortunately it's been accelerating recently. I watched a clip of the 2023 SOTU because of LuFin's thread. He didn't look great - but he didn't look as slow as has recently.

                                  https://www.axios.com/2024/09/04/nikki-haley-joins-edelman

                                  Former Republican presidential candidate and United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley will join public relations firm Edelman.

                                  Haley will serve as vice chair within EGA, the firm's global public affairs consultancy.

                                  She will report to U.S. CEO Kirsty Graham and is expected to begin this month, according to the firm.
