The black politicians who represent the black community aren’t particularly progressive in most issues. The black politicians who represent the white progressives are the ones touted as the “black voices”. Black culture and mainstream progressivism (educated middle aged white female politics) have never meshed well. But you’ll never hear that subject discussed in the mainstream.

That was a well delivered little speech. But actually, according to the social values of the day, she owed the trans person an apology and did not treat her with respect and dignity. Even if it was unintentional. If it was intentional, then it's definitely a modern day disrespectful sin.

Yes maybe on purpose. The trans dude definition sounds like a male, so perhaps it was a mistake. Either way, he looks like a man in the video but looks more feminine in his Twitter bio.

Remember that she sees him on a daily basis and up close and personal. She instinctively reacts to him as a male because he is a male.
He’s definitely not deserving of a respectful “sir”, though.
