Favorite bread?

We’re having a homemade beef soup tonight. I decided that I wanted some freshly baked Italian bread with butter to dip in the soup, so I ran to Wegmans. Oh man, this was a revelation. I haven’t had Italian bread in years… Karla prefers baguettes, and when I have grabbed a loaf of Italian, she turns it into garlic bread before I can blink…
This takes me back to my college days when I would just cut off a huge chunk of fresh bread and just slather it in butter. Good stuff!
What’s your favorite bread?

Did you know that Ciabatta is a very new bread style? Italian baker created it in the 80’s.

But, in the context of bread, yeah, it's pretty new, obviously.

@LuFins-Dad that sounds delicious. I prefer Italian bread that is warm but soft and with good butter. Hard to beat that. It's almost primitive.
For sandwiches and toast, I love rye.
