Wikileaks founder Julian Assange fathered two children with a lawyer who was helping him fight extradition to the U.S. while he was holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, according to The Daily Mail.

The lawyer, Stella Morris, told the Mail that she had decided to come forward about the relationship now because she fears for his life as long as he is in the high-security Belmarsh prison. Assange has been at the prison in London since last spring, when he was sentenced to 50 weeks. The Mail also cited court records regarding the United States' attempted extradition of Assange that mentioned the two young children.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

      https://www.jurist.org/features/2024/02/22/the-legal-framework-of-extradition-and-the-case-of-julian-assange/

this week, Assange once again attracted global media coverage and lured protestors to the UK High Court as his lawyers began a last-ditch effort to prevent his extradition to the US, where he stands accused of 18 charges related to his release of classified US documents via WikiLeaks. During a two-day hearing on February 20 and 21, 2024, a panel of two judges reevaluated a previous UK High Court ruling from June 6, 2023, which dismissed all eight arguments in Assange’s appeal against the extradition order signed by former UK Home Secretary Priti Patel in June 2022.

This week’s hearings mark what could be the end of a years-long battle by Assange to avoid extradition.

          https://www.foxnews.com/world/british-court-rules-julian-assange-may-make-full-appeal-against-us-extradition-first-amendement-grounds

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange may appeal an extradition order to the U.S. on espionage charges for publishing classified U.S. military documents, the British High Court ruled Monday.

Judges Victoria Sharp and Jeremy Johnson ruled in favor of Assange after his lawyers successfully argued that the U.S. government's assurances that he would be entitled to the same free speech protections as American citizens in a U.S. courtroom were "blatantly inadequate."

            Ahem.

Kids aside, I kind of feel like they should just let him go at this point.

            I was only joking
